MK Stalin (born March 1, 1953) is DMK president and was Tamil Nadu Chief Minister from 2021 to 2026. After DMK lost the 2026 election to TVK, Stalin became the Leader of the Opposition. He is the son of DMK patriarch M. Karunanidhi and contests from Kolathur, Chennai. Despite the 2026 defeat, DMK remains Tamil Nadu's largest opposition party.
